My dear friend, Alex Ferguson, of Epic Realm Productions wanted to surprise his wife by making her my Cinnamon Roll Pancakes tomorrow.

“Alex’s work is much too difficult,” Alisane woudl joke. I have partnered with Epic Realm Productions over the last two years to tape segments of Cooking with Elise. Alisane always jokes about how her hubby gets to eat all of my food! That is a nice perk to the job! Alex was actually the person who helped NBC 17 find me! I love that him!

Today Alex called me from the grocery store asking what he could “do with the rest of this buttermilk?” What a great question, Alex! People sometimes worry about having buttermilk in the refrigerator, but not me! There are many different uses for buttermilk. Buttermilk adds a very fluffy texture to cakes, muffins, and cupcakes. It also helps moisten breads and scones. You can even make ice cream and homemade sour cream with buttermilk. I have also used buttermilk in Panna Cotta when out of half and half. Besides that, who in the world doesn’t love a good Buttermilk Dressing on their salad? I do! I do! Buttermilk can often be used in place of regular milk when baking.
