Growing up in New England, I enjoyed many flavors. One of these flavors was “coffee syrup”.

Here in the south, people look at me like I’ve lost my mind when I tell the about coffee syrup…then they try it! Oh yeah, it’s that good!

When thinking of Rhode Island, I think of Roger Williams Park Zoo where Mike and I took our oldest son Nathaniel as a child, Newport Beach, the mansions and Autocrat Coffee Syrup!

I grew up enjoying coffee syrup in milk (I will admit that this was the only way I got myself to drink milk back then). With age, my tastes have changed and I’ve discovered that coffee syrup is, in fact, delicious in COFFEE…iced cold coffee with a little cream! I make a refreshingly sweet iced coffee with this syrup, which I might add has a lot of sugar, but I love it because it reminds me of where I came from. I also don’t drink it very often and so it is a treat that I indulge myself in once in a while. In fact, I happen to be enjoying this refreshing Iced Coffee as I write this post to you now!

All you need is your favorite coffee brewed to your enjoyment, cold or room temperature (I love Dunkin Donuts Coffee…hazelnut)
Autocrat Coffee Syrup (the amount will depend on how sweet you like it (I use only a teaspoon or so)
Your favorite creamer
Ice cubes
