Why buy organic milk

 

Avoid deterioration of milk protein by purchasing organic milk in cardboard cartons.

Milk proteins degrade when exposed to light or specific enzymes. Two amino acids, methionine and cystine are light-sensitive. When exposed to light, proteins containing these amino acids degrade, resulting in decreased nutritional quality and bad tasting milk. This is why many milk containers, such as cardboard milk cartons, are opaque.
