I’ve loved sinking my teeth into a good old Sloppy Joe sandwich ever since I was a kid! This recipe is quick, delicious and healthy!

1 lb. lean ground beef or lean turkey
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ red or yellow onion, minced
½ green bell pepper, minced (optional)
1/4 c. ketchup or chili sauce
2 tbsp. molasses
¼ tsp. ground pepper
1 tsp. yellow mustard or ½ tsp. ground mustard
2 tbsp. white vinegar

Be sure to get the kids involved in this recipe; they’ll just love it! In a sauté pan, cook the meat, garlic, onion and green bell pepper until meat is thoroughly cooked. Make room in the center of the pan for the ketchup, molasses, pepper, ground mustard and vinegar. Heat the sauce for a minute and stir into the meat. Let simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with Ezekiel buns (sprouted grain bread) or whole wheat buns. Enjoy!
