After our fire in 2000, our family made handmade ornaments for our Christmas tree. One set of ornaments were these unedible Cinnamon Ornaments which have lasted ten years and still smell amazing! An important part of making these ornaments is that you allow them a few days to harden. You will notice a change in color because they darken as they harden.

These ornaments were easy, inexpensive and fun to make. Although these ornaments are very resilient, we pack them in ziplock bags with tissue paper and carefully store them with other breakable ornaments.

Ingredients

1 c. applesauce
1.5 c. ground cinnamon
1/3 c. white glue

Directions

• Combine.
• Make ball.
• Refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
• Sprinkle surface with cinnamon.
• Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness.
• Use desired cutters.
• Use straw to make a hole on top for ribbon.

Let sit and dry for two days. You will see a color change.
