• 8 ears of fresh corn
  • Water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese

This morning we awoke to sunny skies, cool temperatures and a great breeze after last night’s beautiful but severe thunderstorm. After breakfast I enjoyed a lovely walk in the park with my son Alex.

Life is good!

Alex and I enjoyed the wildlife at the park, the beautiful pond and all of the plants.

After my walk I headed to Curves, got my thrifty minute workout in and then came home to kill myself climbing the steps in my house.  I always make sure I do that when soemone is home just to be safe. That will really get the heart pumping! I feel great!

Today I want to share with you my secret for what I think is the best corn on the cob! I love the smell of fresh corn on the cob simmering away on the stove, don’t you? I have the perfect quick and delicious recipe for you just in time for Father’s Day.

The secret to this recipe is the milk and sugar added to the water. Well, and the butter melted over the top and the Parmesan cheese that lightly adds a little salty flavor whcih is alwasy great with something sweet.

It’s super easy and quick which is always nice.

Place peeled and cleaned corn in a large pan. Cover with water and add milk and sugar. Cover, bring to a boil, reduce the heat down to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes or until the corn is tender.

Using a pair of tongs, carefully transfer your corn to a large platter and brush softened butter over top.
