Bing, Black Stone, Chelan, Choke, Lapins, Maraschino, Morello, Napoleon, North Star, Rainier, Spanish, Sweetheart and Tieton are just some of the varieties of cherries, often referred to as a “Super Fruit.” I love cherries raw, but have also enjoyed making some of my all-time favorite recipes featuring these beauties. What can I say about cherries? I love them. They are beautiful and they are also very good for you.
My father occasionally suffers from gout, and studies have shown that cherries help with inflammation and pain caused by gout and arthritis. When Dad begins to feel a flare-up, he immediate begins eating dark red cherries.
During the month of February, celebrate National Cherry Month with some of these amazing recipes sure to please every member of your family!

Crepes with Sauteed Rainer Cherries and Port Wine Cream
A basic crepe recipe is perfect for breakfast, a special brunch or a dessert. People are always surprised at how easy crepes are to make. These Rainier cherries were the perfect compliment with a Port Wine Whipped Cream!
Sometimes in winter months, we combine vanilla pudding, sour cream, orange juice, assorted canned fruit and maraschino cherries to make a wonderful Winter Fruit Salad!
