• Burgers
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon of your favorite steak sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt (unless your steak sauce is very salty)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Basil Garlic Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

Tonight I made the boss of all burgers! Let’s start from the top to the bottom of this sandwich, shall we?

I began by toasting the sesame seed hamburger buns (our favorite) just like my Dad always does. A little spread of butter on the buns and a heated cast iron griddle equals the best bun you have ever had!

And take a look at that basil garlic mayo! Oh my goodness, was it delicious! Now I must tell you that no one in our family are big red meat eaters, and when we make burgers, we usually make them with ground turkey or seafood traditionally. But tonight, well, this just hit the spot! I am headed however for a walk after posting this recipe. Guilty smile…

I decided to add…um…crispy bacon and well okay I’ll tell you…a fried egg to our family’s burger, too. Yep! I did! And it was fantastic!

Here’s how I made these burgers that my family devoured! This recipe makes 4 quarter pound burgers.

Simply combine all ingredients careful not to over mix your meat. Form into four patties and refrigerate until you are ready to grill or cook on the stove top.

To make the Basil Garlic Mayonnaise combine all ingredients in a food processor until well blended.

Now onto the toppings:

I cooked up 8 slices of bacon (two for each burger) until they were nice and crispy.

One trick to cooking bacon is to get your slices in a hot cast iron skillet and once they begin to brown up add a little bit of cold water and then let it evaporate. Watch your bacon crisp up nicely before you know it! Remove the bacon and set aside.

In the same cast iron skillet cook your burgers. Remember when forming patties it is important to make an indentation in the middle of the burger. This will helps keep the burgers shape.

Before your burgers are almost done add a thick slice on Monterey Jack cheese to each burger and melt slightly then add bacon slices to each burger.

;

Now fry up four eggs (one for each burger).

To assemble, I simply spread the mayo on one of the toasted buns (or both sides if you would prefer), add your burger, place two slices of bacon on top, then the fried egg (I know, I know) and top off with a toasted sesame seed bun. enjoy, but then head out for a walk ,okay?

Sending love from our hearts to yours!
