Okay, so you just made your favorite pancakes or french toast and realize that you’re out of maple syrup. No worries! A friend in New York shared this recipe with me years ago. My preference is always a really good maple syrup, but this recipe has really come in handy over the years!
1 c. granulated sugar
¼ c. brown sugar
1 c. water
1 tsp. pure vanilla, rum extract or your choice
Bring ingredients to a boil. Cover for 1 minute. Turn off heat and let sit until it thickens.
